I use Serato, a software program to DJ off my laptop. It's kinds expensive but worth it for someone like myself who DJ's enough to not want to carry CD's around. The speakers I use are just industry standard self-powered speakers, nothing fancy.

Just a somewhat related question... what equipment do you use?

we've had pretty bad experiences with past DJs who almost solely play one genre of music, and my sis-in-law is having of babyshowers and parties so they and myself rather i do the music thing,

what programs and equip/setup do you use?

Start charging enough money so that when you actually land a gig, you laugh at how much money they're actually paying you!

I guarantee it will make the event fun again! I work with a lot of professionals in the finance industry. These guys and gals work their butts off and have taught me one thing: Start increasing your prices so that people leave and you do less work for the same money.
