Recently, Apple recalled the USB power adapters for the 3G iPhone. They claim some hocus pocus about the adapter’s “metal prongs can break off and remain in a power outlet, creating a risk of electric shock“. Anyways, I got mine in the mail today — and I was a bit surprised. Check out the box they sent the ultracompact power adapter (that’s what they call it on their website), watch my video blog below.

iPhone Power Adapter Recall

**UPDATE**
My friend Ryan sent my pictures of his faulty USB charger. He described to me how when he simply pulled it out of the wall, one prong came out. Here’s a picture of his charger:

yea it was a bummer! Never seen anything like that before! I should be getting my box my the end of this week! Thanks Apple!

The box is standard size for shipping companies like UPS, Fedex...I know it seems weird, but I used to work in the shipping dept at a local company, we would send a customer a little bag of bolts the size of Skittles and we would have to fill the rest of the box with packing paper. :)

Call me a cynic, but, it sure looks like apple is embracing the green shift.

Yeah, I got mine about a week ago. Same box. Back in the day when I was a Mac Genius most of our smaller parts came in those boxes. But one would think they'd use smaller boxes or just padded envelopes for these.
